Adulting at the Yacht Club

In February 2023, Luke and I found ourselves in desperate need of a vacation—one that would uplift our spirits. After experiencing a miscarriage just a couple of months prior, we craved a trip that felt like comfort food to us: Disney. With our hearts set on staying somewhere near Crescent Lake, we discovered that the Yacht Club was the most affordable option for our chosen dates. That was about as much decision-making as we put into it!

Crescent Lake was our ideal choice, especially since we had park hopper tickets and wanted to indulge in the culinary delights of Epcot as often as possible. You might be pleasantly surprised to learn that the Yacht and Beach Club are just a short walk from Epcot, and they also offer easy access to the Boardwalk and Hollywood Studios.

While we haven't stayed at the Beach Club, it's a sister resort to the Yacht Club, themed more for families, while the Yacht Club leans toward adults. However, if the price happened to be a big difference we would stay at either one! We had heard great things about the shared Stormalong Bay Pool, but we were truly amazed by it! With a huge slide emerging from a shipwreck, a lazy river, and a sandy-bottomed area for kids, we spent hours by the pool, promising ourselves that we would bring our children to experience it someday.

One afternoon, after a morning in the parks, we found ourselves craving mac and cheese. I managed to snag a last-minute reservation at Chefs de France, and within 30 minutes, we were diving into that delicious comfort food—a major perk of staying at a Crescent Lake resort! I wholeheartedly recommend these sister resorts to anyone seeking a fantastic pool experience. You can’t beat the proximity and transportation options to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Plus, you're just minutes away from the Skyliner, opening up dining options at the Skyliner resorts. Luke and I particularly enjoyed our dinner at Topolino’s found at the Riviera Resort.

We’re eagerly looking forward to our upcoming trip this December with the boys, where we’ll be staying at the recently refurbished Boardwalk Inn. It promises to be yet another memorable Disney adventure!
